Patti Dawson Scholarship Award
Mission: To identify, support and reward outstanding individuals who have made a personal commitment to pursuing a career focused on spinal cord injury advocacy, either through advocacy research or promoting systemic change. This individual will be recognized, assisted and rewarded for their human efforts toward the betterment of others living with SCI.
This award will be given to a person with SCI who would like to pursue training for advocacy research or advocacy work.

Wednesday, July 30th, 2014
Award will be presented at:
- The 6th National Spinal Cord Injury Conference, Bioinformatics Inform SCI Rehabilitation
- Saturday, October 4th, 2014-03-28
Eligible Applicants:
- Adult
- Have a SCI or other neurologic disability
- Access to an appropriate training environment
- Available supervisor
Award Recipient Will Receive:
- $3,000 bursary
- The 6th National Spinal Cord Injury Conference registration fee, related travel and accommodation
- Name on plaque to remain at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute – UHN’s Lyndhurst Centre
Award Recipient Responsibilities:
- Attend The 6th National Spinal Cord Injury Conference, Bioinformatics Informs SCI Rehabilitation on October 2nd – 4th, 2014, in Toronto
- Provide a summary of your activities and or achievements for inclusion in a magazine article in Outspoken, other local provincial publications and at www.sciontario.org
- Use awarded funds within one fiscal year
- Provide a statement of expenses at the end of the year
